There are two types of dimensional signs, carved and sand-blasted…
Carved Signs
We carve our signs the old fashioned way…by hand. No two signs – or letters – are the same and this is what makes each carved sign special. Some companies use high-tech, computer-aided routing machines to speed up the process but there’s just something about doing things by hand. Whether it be a smooth or rough-cut style of carving, you’ll be assured of a high quality product that will be enjoyed for many years to come.
Sand-blasted Signs
Our sand-blasted signs are fabricated from a variety of substrates. More commonly redwood, cedar or HDU foam board. High-Density Urethane (HDU) is used more frequently for blasting (and carving) because of it’s longevity, durability and repairability; plus HDU will not warp or crack like redwood or cedar and it is resistant to rotting. Because of the increasing rarity of redwood and cedar, A Wild Sign Company reserves the right to use natural wood when we can showcase it’s natural beauty by staining or clear coating the blasted surface, rather than painting, to show off the wonderful shades and grain of the wood.
